ASSOCIATION

ASSO DPO - Data Protection Officer Association - is the leading Italian organization for professionals working in the fields of personal data protection and digital governance.

Founded to support the professional growth of Data Protection Officers, the Association is expanding its scope of activities to help its members navigate new market challenges: data protection, cybersecurity, AI compliance, digital strategy, digital ethics, and data governance.

Through dialogue, training, working groups, research initiatives, and institutional relations, ASSO DPO promotes the role of the DPO and of professionals involved in compliance, innovation, and digital transformation.

Since 2018, ASSO DPO has been a member of CEDPO - the Confederation of European Data Protection Organizations-contributing to dialogue with European institutions and key industry players.

The Association is also registered on the list of Professional Associations pursuant to Law 4/2013 and may issue, to members who request it and meet the requirements, the Certificate of Quality and Professional Qualification for Services Rendered.

OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of ASSO DPO

ASSO DPO promotes the cultural, professional, and ethical development of Data Protection Officers and professionals working in the fields of data protection, cyber compliance, AI compliance, and digital strategy.

Specifically, the Association aims to:

to highlight the role of the DPO as a key figure in the governance of personal data protection;
to foster dialogue among professionals, companies, public agencies, institutions, and market stakeholders;
to promote research, study, and the dissemination of knowledge regarding privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital compliance, and digital ethics;
to develop shared solutions, standards, best practices, and guidelines to support professionals in their work;
to strengthen dialogue with authorities, institutions, trade associations, and national and European bodies;
to support the evolution of the professional skills required by the digital transformation.
